Thank you: The Bargain Box from PEP
Programs for Exceptional People (PEP) would like to express its gratitude to The Bargain Box Thrift Shop Grant Program for its recent grant award.
The Bargain Box Thrift Shop grant award will provide much needed support for PEP’s transportation program. As the organization has grown, so has the number of program participants who require specialized mobility services. Additionally, many PEP families have difficulty assisting in the effort to transport their adult children to programs and services due to work schedules, finances, and limited access to a safe, reliable vehicle. The Bargain Box award will help facilitate access to PEP’s program sites, and eliminate inadequate transportation as a barrier to receiving services.
This award will have an immediate impact as a program component that supports full inclusion for adults in our community who are living with an intellectual disability. PEP is uniquely positioned to continue to offer experiences to members that are personalized based on needs, goals, and dreams. Our trained and experienced staff is augmented by a group of passionate and dedicated volunteers. The Bargain Box’s participation as a partner in that effort is deeply appreciated.
Programs for Exceptional People has served adults from its Hilton Head locations since 1995, and from Bluffton since 2017. PEP is a State licensed and accredited Adult Activity Center whose mission is to promote independence, social interaction, and employment opportunities for adults who live with intellectual disabilities.
