Will we even have elections in November?
It looks like 2018 is going to be rough. By the end of it, we may have a full-fledged oligarchy, if we don’t already. We now have state TV in Fox News, a propaganda machine. Our morally corrupt Republican politicians are distracting from Robert Mueller’s investigation by attacking Hillary Clinton. Again. And again. If not Hillary, then Mueller. Will we even have elections in November?
Our South Carolina leaders are sucked into the propaganda vortex and are misguided by the oligarchy. U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham is now sucked in, flattering the president. There seems to be an implicit agreement: Don’t criticize in exchange for pleasing the oligarchy. What happened to him? U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford sends out contemplative communications but does not really listen to or act on what we want. He has a warped philosophy and he is sticking to it. U.S. Sen. Tim Scott seems to go with the flow.
We have a president with the emotional and intellectual capacity of a teenager. Our politicians play to voter biases because many voters, lacking self-insight, gravitate to what they want to hear — scapegoating others for their own personal problems. Too many don’t like to read or consider facts to inform their opinions. I have yet to read a letter in the Packet by the president’s supporters who offer any substance. They attack, ignore facts, and spread disinformation.
If we have elections, will they be sabotaged by us? We are not getting what we need to thrive or succeed. I wish us all well in 2018; it’s going to be rough.
