Saying Hilton Head National development is possible is a gross affront
I’m very sorry, but I have a serious problem with David Lauderdale even distantly referring to the possibility of the extreme development of the Hilton Head National property on Bluffton Parkway in his Sunday column, “Will Margaritaville, East Argent lead to new SC county? I hope not and neither should you.”
Yes, we recognize David’s use of the word “possible. However, any reference to that “possibility” is a gross affront to the residents of our community. David is a brilliant commentator of the happenings within The Island Packet/Beaufort Gazette coverage territory, however, giving the slightest bit of credence to this proposed development, we find inexplicably irresponsible.
I have, in the past, written about our community’s strong objections to the proposed development and its horrible effects on our lifestyle. I believe that the line between reporting the news and giving credence to such “possibilities” can be fine, but without being personally affected by the results of this conceptual horror, and pardon my phrasing, David should butt out of adding his personally-unaffected comment on this one.
