How dare criticize someone for showing respect for the flag?

It’s a sad day when a Special Forces veteran, now a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, is criticized for showing respect for our flag and national anthem. I guess in a recent letter-writer’s mind, team “unity” is more important than American patriotism?

I commend Alejandro Villanueva for his action and courage to stand by his convictions and thank him for his service to our country.
