Try enforcing speed limit on US 278
I read the recommended reduction of some speed limits on U.S. 278 from 55 mph to 45 mph. I experimented by driving at 45 mph in the far right lane from the Moss Creek light to the Bluffton Road light. The speed limit on my route was 45 mph.
Every other vehicle blew past me. I don’t think any was going less than 55 mph in this 45 mph zone.
Bluffton used to be a speed trap. Now it’s a speedway. I never see the 45 mph limit being enforced.
Maybe it’s time to update the U.S. 278 traffic study, but enforcement of the present limits might suffice.
