Riley, Bennett owe public an explanation
Regarding the “Steve Riley/David Bennett” dispute, I would like to know what the issues are between them.
Is it just because Riley has been looking for another job, or is it something else, like policies?
What does Bennett think makes a “strong mayor form of government,” and specifically why is it better than what now exists? It seems to me that having a “manager” with full expertise on town matters may be preferable to what might be a less knowledgeable or less competent mayor who can be voted out of office every election cycle.
This is apparently the first time anyone has raised issues with Riley as town manager that has hit the press. I think the parties ought to come clean with us and give us full details of the issues between them.
And why do they have to spend $11,000 on lawyers?
