Prospect of losing Riley troubling
It troubles me to read articles suggesting that Hilton Head Island may lose the services of our excellent town manager, Steve Riley.
Steve has contributed far more to our town than all the Town Council members combined. Last year’s hurricane recovery and beach renourishment are just recent examples.
Where else can you have our lifestyle for the taxes we pay, and still have a town that is financially sound? This is due to Steve’s management, and the fine professional team he has built.
Compare our town’s management to your former communities. Let the politicians who would vote against Steve tell us what substantial contributions they have made to Hilton Head since joining Town Council; not promises or studies, but actual results.
Steve Riley is a great town manager. I hope he will manage our town government so long as I reside here.
