Democrats overlooking their own mess

As Democrats search frantically for whatever fatal bullet might kill Donald Trump’s presidency, they wholly ignore the multiple aspects of our societal decline from the prosperity and prestige we enjoyed decades after World War II, and for which they and their supporters bear almost total responsibility. Here are seven areas of decline.

▪  Long domination of federal government whose policies have expanded entitlements, knowing voters will reward them with re-election. Democrats would prefer to be in power with the economy in shambles than to be the minority party in prosperity.

▪  Fiscal irresponsibility. Both parties are unwilling to take any action to control federal spending, thus proving all politicians put self first (get re-elected), party second (retain control), and country distant third (suffering the consequences).

▪  Spending on public education (K-12) high and increasing, but producing poorer quality graduates in most cases.

▪  Incoming flood of illegal immigrants who differ from those of years ago in lacking education or skills, and not assimilating as Europeans did.

▪  Public behavior, which often turns into riots with shooting, burning and destruction of property. Where? At colleges and universities. By whom? Denizens of the political left.

▪  Drastic decay of our largest cities: financial mismanagement, uncontrolled crime, and failed public schools, all of which has been presided over by Democrats.

▪  Criminal justice systems, supposedly correctional, are really graduate schools for advanced criminal competence. “Tuition” of about $40,000 a year per felon is paid by the public.

Given the present reign of political correctness, might we ever recover?
