Trump presidency looks like his bankruptcies

Looks like we’re just one of his many projects that didn’t work out, like Trump University, the Taj Mahal, Trump vodka, the New Jersey Generals and the Tour de Trump.

This one was kind of fun — until it wasn’t. Lots of rallies for know-nothings, tweeting for attention, show-and-tell signings of things, firing folks, showcasing Ivanka. Fun.

What wasn’t fun was having to read stuff, meeting with Angela Merkel, dealing with Congress, the hours away from golfing.

And now this investigation with a probable subpoena of his tax returns revealing that because he’d stiffed so many banks and other people in this country he had to borrow heavily from totalitarian oligarchs in Russia, making him the near-perfect dupe and thus explaining their extraordinary interest in his election.

But not to worry too much. He can shut down all the investigations whenever he wants. All it takes is preemptive pardons for his family and other loyalists. As easy as bankruptcy (been there, done that — six times), just on a grander scale. And knowing they’ll be pardoned tomorrow frees them today from such bothersome things as obeying laws, behaving ethically and telling the truth.

Then, after a Mike Pence pardon for himself, he and his family will walk away scot-free, richer by lots, still loved by his base, who believe he was treated unfairly by … well, everyone.

And as he will undoubtedly boast, he did more in less time than any president in history, finishing way ahead of schedule.
