Democrats working against national interests

Are Democrats in Washington putting America’s and your interests first?

Democratic leadership is using stalling techniques against President Donald Trump’s nominees by demanding cloture filings, for almost every executive nominee.

Cloture requires a two-day delay, plus another 30 hours of debate for each nominee. There are 400 positions to be filled. If full cloture is enforced by the Democrats in the Senate, it will keep the Trump nominees from even being resolved by the end of the president’s first four-year term.

While this is going on, much of the Senate business is brought to a halt. Anything the House passes lies in limbo awaiting Senate action.

The Wall Street Journal points out that as of June 28, “Trump had nominated 178 appointees, but the Senate had confirmed only 46.” President Obama had 183 of his nominees confirmed, and George W. Bush had 130 as of the same date in their first terms.

Candidates said in campaign rhetoric that a vote for them would be a vote for someone who would work across the aisle to get things done. Where are they now?

The president the people elected can’t even get his team in place. Like him or not, he is being obstructed by alleged grown-ups acting as silly spoiled children at your and the country’s expense.

Would you choose to vote again for people who want to grind the wheels of government to a screeching halt when there are so many important issues requiring immediate attention?
