Nothing beats Bluffton backyard

My husband and I enjoy staying right here in Bluffton at our home. Ron has become a grill master and I must admit his kabobs are excellent. He also enjoys being the No. 1 caregiver of our wonderful yard. Mother Nature surrounds our home and street. Everything is a plush green. It’s so peaceful.

Our daughters and their families were here to celebrate the Fourth of July. They ran together, as well as walked, in our neighborhood. Several of us painted on canvases that will be on display on my fireplace mantel till Christmas.

We all rocked on the porch, or as a builder would say, the “Carolina Room.”

I remember asking my grandmother why she liked to rock so much. “Well, dear,” she said, “I rock my worries away.”

As for me, I am the early riser and I come onto the porch with coffee and to say my gratitude list. All the birds are singing for me. I can do a little yoga before others wake. The gardening calls my name, but I realize the family is here for a brief time. We play many board games, charades and sip cold lemonade.

Yes, you can travel the world looking for diamonds, but for me and my family the best diamonds are in my own backyard.
