Hilton Head event huge success
A wonderful, free event was held on the Fourth of July at the Boys and Girls Club in Hilton Head Island.
Many generous sponsors and volunteers donated food, money, and time to make “One Island, One Community” a huge success. It was a joy to see so many people from various backgrounds and races working together to make it happen, thanks to Mayor David Bennett and Alex Brown for the vision in creating the event.
I was disappointed that The Island Packet did not cover this event as there are plenty of negative events that are covered in your paper. This would have been a great opportunity to show a festive celebration of the various cultures of Hilton Head working together for the good of all.
