Get out of Middle East — now

Could the situation in the Middle East be any more confusing or dangerous?

This fire just keeps getting gasoline thrown on it. It’s time to simply get out. No country in this region is worth a single American life, except Israel.

The politics there are a thing of beauty.

Let’s see. The U.S. actively supports the Syrian Kurds, the Syrian rebels, and fights in Iraq against ISIS, and fights in Afghanistan against the Taliban who are backed by our “ally,” Pakistan. Iraq is fighting ISIS with the support of Iran, a strong Syrian ally. Iran is also sending Syrian refugees back into Syria to fight the rebels. Syria is fighting both rebels and ISIS with the help of Iran and Russia, which claims to be fighting ISIS but consistently bombs Syrian rebels. “Whew!”

Lest we forget, Turkey, another U.S. ally, claims to support the Syrian rebels yet frequently bombs Kurd encampments. Remember, we have supported the Kurds for almost forever. And the Kurds fight alongside the Syrian rebels. Am I repeating myself? But wait, ISIS, which is attempting to reclaim the caliphate for all Muslims, is fighting everyone.

We don’t need the oil, we don’t need the heroin, we don’t need the real estate.

Bring our money, resources, war machines and troops home. Allow the Middle East to sort out its own problems.

Can I get an “amen”?
