GOP should be embarrassed by health care plan

Republican senators should be hanging their heads in shame for the health care bill they’re pushing.

Applying a meat-ax to Medicaid will harm the poorest among us, and we’ve seen the “tax cut equals economic stimulation” movie before under President Ronald Reagan.

The GOP health plan is “reverse Robin Hood,” says former U.S. Sen. Max Baucus. And as economist Bruce Bartlett, who advised Reagan on domestic policy, wrote, “... Reagan took back about half the 1981 tax cut with subsequent tax increases.”

The GOP Senate should be embarrassed for having seven years to come up with a bill to replace Obamacare, hiding behind closed doors to do so and then handing the nation a Republican health care plan that takes from the poor and gives to the rich.
