Dems should tone down the rhetoric
When I turned on my computer today, June 18, I saw a picture of U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., along with her message to President Trump, “Donald, you ain’t seen nasty yet.”
Not long ago U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., called President Trump’s cabinet appointees “a bunch of scumbags.”
Then of course we have Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., and Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., suggesting the Republican proposal to overhaul the Affordable Care Act will result in a massive decline in health care. Pelosi, in attacking the Republican proposal, uses the words, “moral monstrosity” and “inhumane.”
Since the recent shootings during a congressional Republican baseball team practice, a few Democratic congressional members are saying there is a need to tone down the political rhetoric to a more civil level. However, I note they always make it a point to reference “both sides” lest some folks might think one side has the edge in being nasty.
