Sea Pines offers progressive opportunity
I am writing to add support to comments made by Dennis Meir in a letter last week about the Sea Pines vote.
My wife, Ellie, and I are 37-year residents of Sea Pines and I have served on both the Association of Sea Pines Plantation Property Owners and Community Services Associates boards. I have had the pleasure of working with Sea Pines Resort owners before and during the Riverstone tenure.
I have had several occasions to trust the good intentions of Riverstone and Steve Birdwell, the current president of the resort, and have always been amazed at the quality of performance. Quite a difference from some prior ownership groups.
One of the quirky things that I have noticed is that, on average, the negative coalition appears to be people who have been residents for a shorter period than the group that supports the resort. My guess is that it takes time to “feel” the true nature of Sea Pines and the value of understanding what Charles Fraser envisioned.
Ellie and I are encouraging all our friends and acquaintances to vote for this progressive opportunity and enjoy the benefits that accrue. We expect that value will be added in several ways.
