US needs relentless force against enemy
Death and mutilation in Britain. Police attacked in France. What we must all understand is that we, as part of Western civilization, are involved in a war with a significant portion of people who believe in the worst interpretation of Islam.
You cannot dispute that fact, nor the fact that the rest of the Muslim community is doing virtually nothing to stop the so-called “radical” Muslims from carrying out their evil deeds.
Unless and until we are willing to prosecute this war with the vigor we used against Germany and Japan in World War II, we will continue to live in fear of the next terrorist atrocity.
Forget the outpourings of useless grief, with mounds of flowers and candlelight vigils at the site of the murders. They won’t bring back the dead or make whole the maimed. Only relentless force against the Muslim fighters, their families and the others who tacitly support them will bring this war to an end.
The sooner we do that, the better. Iran and Afghanistan should be made to plead for the violence rained down upon them to stop. The others will see and comply as well. If we don’t have the resolve and determination to do this, terrorist acts will arrive on our shores in a magnitude we can’t currently imagine.
