Trump not a ‘climate change denier’
I assume the “climate change denier” referred to in a recent letter to the editor was meant to apply to President Donald Trump.
I feel compelled to respond because I don’t believe that Trump said in his comments that he denied climate change.
In fact, to the contrary, he said that he did believe the climate is changing. Reasonable people can agree that the climate changes but disagree about what should, or even can, be done.
Trump removed the United States from the Paris accord regarding climate change. He does not agree that the accord is the best way to respond to, or to address, climate-change issues.
He stated he wants to renegotiate the terms of the accord. I don’t think we will be hurled into a doomsday scenario if the terms are renegotiated. Give him a chance.
