Letter: US wakes up to human rights
Last year, 12,587 Syrians were admitted to the U.S. as refugees. Ninety-nine percent were Muslims and less than 1 percent were Christians. Many Christians were specifically targeted by ISIS to be tortured or killed. The U.S. government defines a refugee as someone who is persecuted by their government, but didn’t consider ISIS a government. This policy led to the slaughter of thousands of Christians. Finally the U.S. is waking up to human rights.
