Letter: Trump’s cabinet a great nullification

I have the greatest respect for small-business owners. Having to deal with regulations is time-consuming and expensive. It is unfortunate that some corporations and Wall Street, either from a lack of responsibility or greed, behave in a manner that is harmful to the citizens, making it necessary for the government to add regulations to protect society. These regulations are unfair and very stressful to the companies that did behave in a responsible manner.

The associations and agencies that form the federal government were created to protect our citizens. The appointments President-elect Donald Trump will be making for the Treasury, Education, Health and Human Services, Attorney General, Department of Labor and EPA are a complete nullification of the purpose of creating these government agencies.

The motivation behind each of these selections is money for Trump and the business person selected. Each person he has selected has a conflict of interest. And on top of all this, giving a nod to the alt-right by giving Steve Bannon the position of chief strategist has given the green light to angry, unfortunate citizens to scapegoat the “other.”

Trump has great admiration for wealthy business people. Success, in his mind, is possessing wealth, but not how the wealth was acquired.

The conflicts of interest of the Trump presidency and the Trump family business are too unbelievable to comprehend. His audacious lying, Fox News, and fake news may unfortunately allow this strongman’s survival. This is “greed is good” on steroids.
