Letter: Trump was right: The system is rigged

The people have spoken …

No, wait a minute … the people elected Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine by a margin of more than 2 million votes.

Donald Trump was right. The system is rigged … by the Electoral College system to favor the smaller states.

The last time the president was chosen by the Electoral College and not by the majority of voters, George W. Bush became president. Al Gore won the majority of votes but lost the election.

Subsequently, the Bush administration fell asleep at the wheel, which resulted in the 9/11 attacks on our country, followed by a 10-year war on two fronts, the destabilization of the Middle East, and the greatest recession in more than 80 years, which spread to other countries and required seven years of careful monitoring to bring recovery.

What’s to prevent a repeat of that disaster now, with another new, unelected and untried Republican administration? Could the future be even worse?
