Letter: It’s called ‘Other Viewpoints’ for a good reason

Several recent letter-writers proposing that you drop Leonard Pitts columns are totally missing the point of your ongoing feature.

It’s called “Other Viewpoints” because it shares multiple viewpoints on multiple topics. I respect and value the newspaper’s decision to provide a window into differing perspectives. Do I agree with them all? Of course not. But the columns are a non-threatening and thoughtful way to hear what others think about today’s important issues.

Please continue to treat your readers like intelligent adults who can appreciate a broad array of opinions. And keep Leonard Pitts in that array of writers because we enjoy his columns.
