Letter: Revel in their angst with optimism
I am amused observing progressives venting their frustrations in your letters section. Need I remind them, President Obama told Republican leadership soon after he became president, “I won” and “elections have consequences.”
They lash out at the Electoral College. This system has stood the test of time thanks to the genius and prescience of the Founders. Now it should be jettisoned to satisfy the losing party’s insatiable lust for power? Get real.
The sycophantic media, merely an extension of the Democratic Party, mercilessly hammered Donald Trump from his nomination day, while blithely ignoring Hillary Clinton’s felonious foibles. They are now public knowledge. No need to rehash the ugly details. Adios, Clintons.
Thank God the country repudiated Hillary and President Obama’s policies. As president, Trump will shred the sad legacy. The plethora of actions that led to the demise of the Democratic Party became too much for this country to bear. Witness the ugly, convoluted process used to jam the Affordable Care Act down the public’s throat. Then they had the temerity to exempt themselves from this disaster. Is it any wonder the electorate said “enough”?
The Democratic Party has been decimated, yet Democrats whine, mount protests and demean Trump. It is unhinged progressive zealotry. It’s impossible to debate progressives since their rhetoric essentially consists of hyperbole and denial of empirical evidence. Thus, I’ll opt to revel in their angst, and with euphoric optimism for my country I eagerly anticipate Trump’s first 100 days.
