Letter: Pitts viewpoint valuable to public

I must disagree with your reader who believes that Leonard Pitts “contributes nothing” to your newspaper. I have always found Mr. Pitts’ columns to be insightful, well reasoned, and informative. I do not always agree with his point of view, but I try to understand it. Nearly always, he presents facts and experiences that help clarify why he feels the way he does.

I am fortunate in that I have not often been the victim of racism in my life. I think there is a great deal of value to see life through the eyes of those who have. Please continue to carry Mr. Pitts’ column in your newspaper.
