Letter: Why Electoral College works
Obviously, the Founding Fathers knew what they were doing when they established the Electoral College for electing a president. In this past election, if you remove both candidates’ vote totals for New York, California and Illinois, Donald Trump is suddenly ahead by about 5 million votes. Almost half of Hillary Clinton’s electoral votes came from these three states. Trump won about two-thirds of the 50 states. Do we want a handful of states electing the president?
