Letter: Leonard Pitts contributes nothing
David Lauderdale’s inspiring, gracious, touching piece, “10 things we can be thankful for...” (Nov 22) reminds us how gratitude, kindness, and empathy contribute so much to life. David himself is a Lowcountry treasure.
In contrast, Leonard Pitts comes across as a sniveling, whining, complaining, hating “one-trick pony” (that would be racism — he doesn’t seem to exhibit any other thoughts).
As I’ve complained before, and as several other readers commented in recent letters, Pitts contributes nothing. I have previously been told Pitts represents a segment of your readership. Really? Surely management could find another African American journalist or opinion writer who could offer a more balanced view of issues of concern to minorities.
Please work to present a broader view of important issues. Pitts’ columns are racist and inflammatory. How can that help the elimination of racism?
