Letter: Shorten political campaigns, please
One thing has become more obvious than ever, following the presidential campaign, and that is the length and cost of the primary/election campaigns.
If it takes an amendment to the Constitution to achieve a limit to the length of time and money spent, so be it. Do whatever it takes.
I, for one, became so weary of watching and listening to the vitriol that I finally had to stop watching the television, because they kept repeating the same things over and over, ad nauseam.
Seems to me that a couple of weeks for the primaries, debates included, would be enough. The presidential campaign should take no more than a month. If the candidates can’t get their points across in an intelligent manner in that length of time, then they are undeserving of the highest office in the country.
