Letters: Elite ‘professionals,’ get over it

Reading all the negative letters in the newspaper during the past week about President-elect Donald Trump, I reached a conclusion. Most of the letters to the editor, and in particular the column Monday by Leonard Pitts, castigated the voters who elected Trump as under-educated, low-paid, non-professionals.

While some of what they said may be true, most is not.

Some of the voters are just plain old high school grads who work as plumbers, electricians, printers, carpenters, nurses, police, firefighters, etc. What the elite “professionals” really failed at is common sense.

The voters chose Trump over a candidate who has a proven track record of scandals, lies, and corruption. So, Mr. Pitts and elites, you have four years to write your letters and columns. Trump will be the president during that time. So, to you and your professionals, get over it.
