Letter: Vote with the facts, but go vote

Please let’s all get out to vote. It’s so important to my daughter, Liz, and I because when my grandmother was born, women couldn’t vote. She was beaten for trying, but she succeeded in being the first woman in Kentucky to vote.

Everyone who can, should be at the polls carrying on the tradition of those who made it possible for us whether the suffragettes or those of the 1960s. We can’t let them down.

In North Carolina, some former polling places have been removed to make it harder for voters. Let’s be glad we can find our locations. If you need a ride, call your political party and please be sure when you do, you have the facts. There was an ad in the Packet with a sling shot saying that Hilary would take away people’s guns. NOT TRUE. If you read the Island Packet’s review of the views of the candidates, you read she wants to limit assault rifles. No one needs a gun that shoots 100 rounds without re-loading to protect a home or to go hunting. They are for war or domestic terrorists. She also wants sensible background checks, and for anyone who has not commited a crime, what’s the problem?

Vote with the FACTS, but GO VOTE!
