Letter: Why you should vote for GOP
Re: Vote to Retain One Branch of Government
Being a registered Republican for about the past 50 years, I have occasionally voted for other party nominees, e.g., John F. Kennedy in 1960. I will not repeat this crossover in 2016.
I support principles, such as, small government, low but fair taxation, strong defense, states’ rights, balanced budgets, term limits, interpretation of the constitution as written and not some living document, and providing for those who are really unable to provide for themselves.
My extreme disappointment in the conviction that Mrs. Clinton would lose the U.S. Presidency in 2016 to any of a host of honorable Republicans including Paul Ryan, Ben Carson, and Nikki Haley. Mrs. Clinton’s accumulated 30 year “baggage” makes her more vulnerable than any prior nominee in my lifetime; unfortunately, except one.
For those who may be discouraged, our present hope for America is that the Republican Party continues to control our U.S. Senate and House of Representatives through 2020 when a genuine mature Republican leader can be nominated. Hence, your vote on November 8, 2016 is desperately needed so at least one branch of government is retained for the next four years.
