Letter: Stark comparison favors Clinton
Donald Trump’s life story tells us about the man he is, the example he will set for us and our children, and how he will lead the nation if elected.
Does he attend church? Has he volunteered to help people in times of need, and has he traveled the world to know people who are different from us? Has he contributed to worthy causes or fought for the rights of others? Has Trump done any hard labor, been elected by the people, or volunteered in any do-good organizations? The answer is a resounding “no!”
Trump lives in the top four floors of Trump Tower high above New York City with gilded columns in his living room. He amassed a fortune as an unscrupulous opportunist who had help getting started.
His appeal to the regular working people must involve envy of his wealth, for they have little in common with this TV-celebrity billionaire who has evaded paying taxes to the country in which he made his fortune. That and anger with the status quo (do nothing) Congress in Washington may define his followers.
Hillary Clinton can answer “yes!” in the areas listed above. She grew up in a middle class home and became interested in worthy causes for ordinary people while still a student in college. She understands our political system at all levels and is acquainted with leaders and regular people here and the world over. She has worked for and continues to champion causes for regular people and she will be a great president.
