Letter: County sales tax bad idea
Vote “no” on Beaufort County’s capital projects sales tax referendum. It must be defeated. The projects are far from ready for voter approval.
It is unconscionable to waste money on frivolous and unneeded projects, particularly in view of the need to restore Beaufort County from the damage caused by Hurricane Mathew. Once the money is spent, folks, it’s gone, but the real needs of our community will remain unfunded.
Spend time to vet a proper list of needed projects and then consider a sales tax initiative.
