Letter: Mayor Bennett not what island needs

What would we have done without Town of Hilton Head Island manager Steve Riley’s dedication and experience during Hurricane Mathew? Island residents owe him great thanks. Without his guidance, our situation would be much worse.

In contrast, part-time, absentee Mayor David Bennett demonstrated that he is not the leader this town needs. Either he does not understand or refuses to accept the commitment required of Hilton Head’s mayor.
