Letter: No question about safety concerns
I am responding to the letter questioning safety concerns.
In the days after Hurricane Matthew, there were numerous safety issues that prevented a quick return to our homes. No water, electricity, blocked roads and flooding. It was wise not to allow residents to return home too early.
Those people who were charged with restoring electricity could do so more quickly without the extra burden of returning traffic.
And the list of things to be restored safely is long.
If one does not want to be kept safe, there are plenty of people in Haiti who would change places.
