Letter: Thanks for services delivered during hurricane
May I join in the praise for the excellent job that this publication did in covering Hurricane Matthew. Like many others, we took off and ended up some 80 miles away from the coast. The fact that we could still read and be informed by the Packet on our laptop was a rewarding experience.
May I also compliment the service of our local post office, delivering mail as soon as it was possible. The fact that they also delivered on Sunday to try and catch up with lost time was equally impressive.
Finally, may I include our local Sheriffs Office and our local police service for the excellent way that they assisted people to leave and, of course, return. A first-class job from all concerned and I sincerely thank them for their help and exceptional dedication.
