Letter: Steve Riley there when needed

Let us all give a big round of applause and a grateful thank you to the Hilton Head Island town manager, Steve Riley, who directed the diligent recovery efforts to return Hilton Head residents and business owners to their homes and workplaces as quickly and efficiently as possible.

As is generally known, and so delicately stated in Liz Farrell’s column in the Oct. 16 edition, “... considering the two don’t get along,” maybe Mayor David Bennett should reconsider his attitude toward Steve Riley, who so readily stepped up in the mayor’s absence.
