Letter: Tax vote can send a message

Our politically-correct school system has accepted Superintendent Jeff Moss’s explanation that he unintentionally violated state ethics standards for public officials. Let me give my politically-incorrect, or as we used to call it “my honest,” opinion. I believe Moss’s actions were deliberate and corrupt. To me, Moss represents our society’s continued willingness to accept corruption.

Now Moss wants us to vote for a 10-year, 1 percent school sales tax that would give him and our school board access to potentially $280 million. We know politicians will spend every dime of our tax money, regardless of what is truly needed.

If you believe as I do please vote against this school sales tax. Send a message to our school system that we want Moss ousted before we give them any money.

Yes, this vote is about Moss, but it’s also a way to make a personal statement in which we act, not simply talk about ending political corruption.
