Letter: Focus campaign on true issues

The media have chosen to treat this campaign like a middle school gossip column.

Reporters sound like tabloid yellow journalists. He said, she said, and who said it first? Actual reporting during the campaign should deal in facts, not innuendo.

Will we ever discuss how to fix issues like mature people — the central issues necessary to improvement in America? Let’s review each party’s platform on how to fix Medicare/Medicaid, the debt, Citizens United, gerrymandering, and the tax code.

I propose a federal 1 percent sales tax to pay the national debt. The tax goes away as soon as the debt is paid. It can’t be used for anything else.

Come on, people, let’s talk issues, not middle school gossip. Hillary says he’s not fit for president. Trump says she’s a liar. OK! Enough! Let us discuss issues only.
