Monday, Jul 1: Latest developments on Remnants of Chris from the National Hurricane Center

The National Hurricane Center issued the last advisory for the remnant system at 11 am Monday. Chris changed first into a tropical depression and then into a remnant with sustained winds of 35 miles per hour.
Remnants of Chris are 60 miles south-southwest of Tuxpan Mexico, with maximum sustained wind of 35 mph. It’s moving 7 mph to the west-northwest.
YESTERDAY (Sunday):
The National Hurricane Center issued the first advisory for a tropical depression at 5 pm yesterday (Sunday). The tropical depression named Chris developed into a tropical storm with winds of 35 miles per hour. Chris was previously forecasted as a tropical depression but has since gained strength. Mexico's coastline was expected to encounter Chris, coming from the Gulf of Mexico.
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND:
RAINFALL: The remnants of Chris is expected to produce rainfall totals of 4 to 8 inches across portions of eastern Mexico today.
Maximum rainfall totals around 12 inches are possible across the higher terrain of the Mexican states of Guanajuato, Querétaro, and San Luis Potosí. This rainfall will result in areas of flooding,
With mudslides possible in areas of higher terrain.
