Last bus out of Hilton Head leaves at 4 pm — here’s where to catch it
Hilton Head Island residents have one more chance to be transported to a shelter before Hurricane Matthew hits.
A free Palmetto Breeze Transit bus will leave at 4 p.m. from the BiLo at Port Royal Plaza.
The bus seats 55, but Hilton Head Island Fire & Rescue Chief Brad Tadlock says officials will find a way to transport more people if need be.
Anyone who wants to evacuate but can’t get to Port Royal Plaza must call the dispatch center to request a pickup.
That number is 843-682-5125.
All evacuees will be taken to Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School, which has been converted into a shelter. Remember to pack bedding, activities for any children, medicine and food for any dietary requirements.
