The National Weather Service Charleston has issued a flood advisory for Beaufort County for Tuesday evening.

Up to six inches of saltwater may flood areas along shorelines and tidal waterways.

Flooding is possible from one to two hours before high tide to one to two hours after, the NWS said. High tide is expected around 9:03 p.m. Tuesday.

Members of the public are asked to take any action necessary to protect flood-prone areas and to expect delays and/or road closures when traveling.

Drivers are asked not to drive around barricades or through pools of water.

The alert was also issued for coastal Jasper County and coastal southeast Georgia.
