After recent rain it’s going to be about perfect weather in Beaufort County this weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Charleston, but it’s too soon to predict what Thanksgiving will bring.

A tenth of an inch of rain had fallen at the Beaufort County Airport on Lady’s Island as of 7 a.m. Thursday and there’s a chance for additional showers across the area Friday.

But the brunt of the soggy conditions are expected to move out of the region Friday night and give way to mostly sunny skies and ideal fall temperatures with highs around 70 Saturday and Sunday.

“You really can’t beat it,” said Jonathan Lamb, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

The normal high for Saturday is 69. For Sunday, it’s 68.

Rain could return next week, however.

It’s too early to pin down the forecast for Thanksgiving day, Lamb said late Thursday morning. But it is looking like those who are traveling ahead of the holiday may encounter showers, particularly on Tuesday and Tuesday evening, Lamb said.
