UPDATE: The current severe thunderstorm warning for Lowcountry will be expiring at 6 p.m.

The warning had been issued for Beaufort, Charleston, Colleton and Dorchester counties.

"The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire," comments the NWS Charleston SC.

The warning is in effect until 6 p.m.
