Feeling chilly? Here’s when to expect warmer temperatures in Hilton Head area
Feeling sick of the cold weather in Hilton Head this Thanksgiving week?
A deep low pressure system over Canada is pushing cold Arctic air into the Lowcountry, according to the National Weather Service in Charleston.
However, warmer temperatures are expected to return this weekend. Here’s what to expect.
Breezy Saturday
Put on a warm coat on Saturday before you head outside. Expect partly sunny skies with a high of 57, and a cold northeast breeze with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Sunny Sunday
Folks in Hilton Head will enjoy a brief respite from the cold as warmer temperatures arrive Sunday morning.
The skies will be mostly sunny with a high of around 69 degrees. A light breeze will blow in from the northeast in the morning; in the afternoon, the breeze will flow from the south instead.
Sunday night will bring a 20% chance of showers with lows around 51 degrees.
Chance of storm next week
Monday morning is expected to be cloudy, with a high of 63 and a 20% chance of rain.
Rain and thunderstorms are likely to come Monday evening, with showers persisting into Tuesday.
Tuesday will bring slightly warmer temperatures again with a high of 65. Fall temperatures will return starting Wednesday, with highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
Temperature swings like these pretty typical for the Lowcountry, and will likely persist through January and February, according to the NWS Charleston.
