While other parts of the state may see a light dusting of snow in the coming days, Lowcountry residents won’t need to pull out their snow shovels again. Beaufort County will likely only experience some rain and cold weather, according to a briefing from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources .

The northern part of the state will see any of the snow that does fall Wednesday and Thursday. Rain will fall across most of the state Wednesday afternoon into the evening. In Beaufort County, there is a low of 34 degrees Wednesday night. Showers will begin on Wednesday morning, and it’s likely they’ll continue into the night.

It’s possible that ice will form on the roads should the temperatures drop below freezing, but it’s unlikely.

A cold front will move through the state Thursday morning. While the daytime high is 51 degrees, the temperature will drop to a low of 26 degrees in the night.

It will remain chilly into the weekend, with high in the 50s and lows near freezing Friday into Saturday.
