Feels like Thanksgiving? A look at Beaufort County weather forecasts ahead of the holiday

After a chilly weekend with expected wind gusts, Beaufort County will see warm-to-mild temperatures during Thanksgiving week, meteorologists say. Forecasts anticipate negligible rainfall and no tropical activity in the Gulf of Mexico, suggesting relatively painless holiday travel routes across the Southeast.

A series of cold fronts will bring low temperatures to the Hilton Head Island area into the weekend, with western winds heightening the chill. Friday will likely be the coldest, with highs in the upper 50s and lows dipping toward 40 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the Charleston office of the National Weather Service.

Winds are expected to subside as high temperatures climb back into the 60s on Saturday, reaching into the low-to-mid 70s for the front half of the holiday week. Thanksgiving forecasts set a high of 73 and low of 49.

Large swaths of low pressure around the Great Lakes will push cold air masses into the Southeast on Thursday and Friday, making for a chilly weekend ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
