Weather
Friday night: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight with low temperatures around 73 degrees. The wind will be out of the south at 8 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a 10th and quarter of an inch with higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday daytime: Expect a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Otherwise it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 88 degrees. The wind shifts to come out of the west at 7 to 10 mph.
Saturday night: There will be light clouds with a low around 74 and a southwest wind around 9 mph.
Sunday daytime: A classic summer beach day expected with sunny conditions and a high near 89 degrees. The wind will continue to come out of the west at 7 to 9 mph.
Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 76 degrees.
UV index: Both Saturday and Sunday will have a very high index of nearly 11. Sunscreen and skin covering is recommended.
Surfing conditions: Very poor surf conditions are reported by Surfline for both weekend days.
Seawater temperature: The inshore water temperature for the weekend will hover around 77 degrees.
Boating
Tides: Saturday morning’s early low tide at Port Royal Plantation / Hilton Head will be at 6:50 a.m. with high tide (5 feet) at 1:25 p.m. Sunday morning’s low tide will be at 7:32 a.m. and the high tide at 2:21 p.m.
Friday afternoon: Southwest winds 10 to 15 knots with seas 4 to 5 feet. A chance of showers and thunderstorms later in the evening.
Saturday daytime and evening: Again there will be southwest winds 10 to 15 knots with seas 2 to 3 feet and slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Sunday day and evening: It will repeat the earlier patterns with southwest winds 10 to 15 knots and the seas at 3 feet.

Saturday: Port Royal Farmers Market at Naval Heritage Park from 9 a.m. to noon
Saturday: Hardeeville’s annual 4th Off Main is open from 6 to 9 p.m. with food trucks, family friendly activities, music and fireworks. The event is free and open to the public at 205 Main St. in Hardeeville.
