Grab your umbrellas, Beaufort Co.! Lots of rain, possible dangerous winds heading our way
Severe weather may roll through eastern parts of South Carolina and Georgia Wednesday afternoon and evening, bringing threats of damaging winds, isolated hail and the possibility of tornadoes.
The National Weather Service warned of scattered thunderstorms moving through Beaufort County during the afternoon with “second round of strong, possibly severe thunderstorms” likely happening overnight as a cold front moves in.
“The primary threat will be damaging wind gusts, though large hail and an isolated tornado will also be possible,” the hazardous weather outlook forecast said. “The primary time period for severe weather will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.” on Wednesday.
The National Weather Service Charleston marked Beaufort County as a “slight risk” for the severe storms.
Rain is expected in Beaufort County through at least early Saturday.
Freezing temperatures are expected Saturday night, which may lead to freeze watches and warnings. Frost or freeze conditions are also possible Sunday night despite it not being as cold.
