Heat advisory issued for Beaufort Co. ahead of July 4 weekend. What it will feel like

It’s going to be a hot one, y’all.

Beaufort County is under a heat advisory from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday as local heat indexes reach between 105 and 108 degrees, according to The National Weather Service in Charleston.

The heat index is a measure of how hot it really feels when humidity is factored into the base temperature, the weather service says. While the temperature in Bluffton is forecast to reach 96 degrees, the heat index is boosted by the high humidity.

If you’re out and about on Tuesday, bring water and sunscreen. Try to limit your time outdoors.

Wednesday doesn’t look likely to bring reprieve. The National Weather Service has forecast a heat index of 102 in Beaufort County.
