Grab your umbrella! Rainy day, possible flooding in Beaufort County on Friday

Keep umbrellas and rain boots handy, Beaufort County. We’re going to have a wet start to the weekend.

Rain storms Friday could drop up to 5 inches of water on Beaufort, Bluffton, Hilton Head and Port Royal, according to the National Weather Service Charleston.

Heavy rain is likely to continue throughout the day, and some flooding is possible.

A flash flood watch called Friday morning was cancelled Friday afternoon by the weather service.

Weekend forecast

Friday: Showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 82. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Friday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 9 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. Northeast wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Saturday night: A 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Northeast wind 3 to 6 mph.

Sunday: A 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. Northeast wind 6 to 8 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday night: A 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70.
